This is half-pie.

Here’s a 360 degree Quicktime VR panorama of Lake Hawea, in the South Island of New Zealand. I took the 16 images for this on my Canon A100 digital camera (without a tripod, introducing a few noticeable inconsistencies) in late January 2003.

In order to view this you will need to have installed Apple’s Quicktime, version 3 or greater. (Windows versions are available.) The file is 276kB in length.

It was a very windy day when I took this, and windblown spray was reaching me even though I stood 30m up the beach. As can be imagined, this is a very good spot for windsurfers, and one was speeding backwards and forwards while I was there (but sadly was a little too far away to make it into the picture).

Lake Hawea is one of those places where any amount of time spent there is aways too little.
