It’s an iPod. Thanks to a fortuitous work trip to Australia, and the collection of lots of discount vouchers for the Duty Free at the airport, I am now the proud owner of the 20Gb model.

It’s amazing. And beautiful. I don’t think I’ve ever owned a cooler gadget. Even the packaging is beautiful, cunningly designed to minimise buyer’s remorse by being just right somehow; and little messages from Apple (”Enjoy”) on the stickers securing it together.

I’ve got 1200 songs on it now and it’s only a third full (which is just as well, as I have another 200 CDs to go on it).

OK, so this is a really dull posting. But I can’t help it. I’m in love.

Congratulations. I know you've been lusting after one for a while. I'll therefore presume that it has a totally drool-proof casing as well?

It hasn't shorted out yet, so yes, I think it is drool-proof.

The iPod is great. The only things is I'm finding myself tempted by the iPod mini. But I shouldn't. Need to save money for 17" LCD. Damn needs!

I must say, the Mini is quite cool. But with the lack of disk space it's not quite as practical. I've made the right decision.
