blue period
7:20am on Orangi Kaupapa Road.
The lights of the town were reflected in the harbour, and the air was heavy with that feeling of incipient rain that holds off for longer than expected. Enough time to walk to work, climb on to the wheel.
Somehow the rest of the day did not get much brighter, even though the sun was occasionally visible.
Maybe I need more sleep.

Wasn't aware you were a small rodent. Hows that working out for ya?

Oh... you mean... I'm not like other people? I hope your thoughtless comment doesn't give me a body image problem. No wonder people have been feeding me seeds and nuts. I just thought they were being kind.

You know very well that you're not graded for an inflatable blue wheel. Please hand it back at once and revert to the standard metal wheel sans upholstery or beautifications. And enter a disciplinary note in your personal record.

The dream is over. Now I'll never make it to blue wheel status. And nothing more than stale peanuts forever. At least the coffee beans are unlimited, although all that does is make me run faster...
