lunar eclipse

I had already written off the eclipse, as it seemed like it was going to be pretty cloudy this evening. So I didn’t bother reading up on what to do.

Pity. Because although the intrepid Wellington Flickrites seemed to be in the clouds too from time to time there were enough clear patches for me at home to squeeze off a hasty few before I got too cold and retreated indoors.

Here’s the best of a bad bunch:

eclipse (ii)

Better luck in 2014. Although I’m sure we’ll see some pretty good photos on Flickr shortly from the better prepared out there.

Niiiice – glad someone got a picture.

Oh, and did you watch the Fresh* ad before typing in the words:
... for me at home to squeeze off a hasty few …

    ;-)

Er… no. If anything, “squeeze off” has a firearms connotation for me.

I’ll have to check out that ad… when I get home. :-)

Nice shot Alan. Better than all of mine so I’m just off to Flickr to check out what setings you used. I couldn’t get enough contrast between the light and dark to get a full image during the phases.

Ahhh, I just set it on to “M” and experimented with exposure settings. Although my link above does take you to a page where the best way to set the exposure for moon shots is discussed.
